Micro:bit, 3D pen, LittleBits & more
Goal: Feels like real engineering · ~$48/kit
The middle school kit is built to feel like real engineering. Students program a Micro:bit, draw in 3D, snap together magnetic circuits, race brushbots, and launch rockets. Five different ways to build, test, and try again.
Kit hardware & projects
- Micro:bit v2 (~$15): programmable microcomputer with block-based coding for games and gadgets
- 3D pen (~$12): draw in 3D, build sculptures and small objects
- LittleBits Inventor Kit (~$15 refurbished): magnetic electronic bits, no coding required
- Brushbot kit (~$5): toothbrush head, motor, and battery make a tiny vibrating robot kids can race
- Rocket launch kit (~$6): stomp rocket or water bottle rocket, teaches aerodynamics
